Ordering
We will send a series of reminders that you have not ordered any meals for the next delivery and remind you that you have until 1pm on Friday to place an order for the upcoming Sunday. We always have at least a month of deliveries to choose from, so no need to wait for the last minute.
We never send meals unless you have actually chosen them, we are NOT a subscription service that sends you stuff whether you want it or not, we like you too much to do that.
You have access to our very user friendly customer site to manage your account and make all your changes.
You can create and change your orders on your customer page any time before the deadline of 1pm Friday for the upcoming Sunday delivery.
For A La Carte please email us, we will be happy to help as long as it is well before the ordering deadlines.
Deadlines are:
- Friday @ 1 pm for Sunday late afternoon / early evening deliveries
Pricing and Payment
No problem, but we will be sad to see you go though.
We ask for a 10% of the total order cancellation fee and any meals in production or delivered will not be refunded.
The day pricing will also be adjusted for the closest price plan to the days delivered. For example, if you sign up for 24 days (4 deliveries of 6 days per delivery) and wish to leave after 6 days (1 delivery), those days will be assessed at the higher 6 day rate.
For the cancellation fees, delivery, damage and theft policies please see our Terms and Conditions.
We use high level encryption just like the banks when sending data from you to us and back. No one will know about your brownie addiction, or your credit card.
We actually don’t store your credit card ever on our site. Our credit processor stores all that info for us, they are PCI 1 compliant. When you enter it in we get a token (a bunch of random characters) and we send that to them to request a purchase.
We also use Google recaptcha to make sure the bots know they are not welcome. We have a number of other products and procedures that we use.
Online you can use Visa, Visa Debit and Mastercard. You can also contact us to use Interac E-Transfer.
Yes. We offer discounts regularly. Join our email list and our social accounts to get the promo codes when they come out.
We believe you should reward loyal customers, so unlike others our promo codes will work for new and existing customers.
Healthy Meals
If you have a life threatening allergy we do not recommend our service.
For other allergies and intolerances we looked at this either as having a smaller menu with ingredient changes or a larger menu with ingredient lists. We went with the later to give more meal choices with pictures, nutrition facts and ingredients for each meal. We have over 500 recipes that we rotate so we can have a new menu every delivery and give you as much choice as possible.
You should always seek the advice of your doctor before changing your diet significantly like our meal plans.
If you want to lose weight fewer calories is better to a point. You don’t want to be hungry either. Our plans utilize snacks to make sure you are not hungry throughout the day. We recommend starting with a 3 meal and 2 snack plan for your first program. If you find you are hungry, add a snack, too much food, drop a snack on your next renewal.
Typically women go with regular and men with large.
Our diet is based on calorie and portion control making sure you eat the right foods in the right amounts. Our meals are made and delivered fresh so the sodium and sugar are kept low. We never add trans fats to any of our meals. Our fresh meals are prepared by our chefs with as many fresh, sustainable, local and organic ingredients as possible.
We also do whole grains, higher fibre and varied grains. The chef has also made many other choices to maximize your health and your palate.
Weight Loss and Working Out
Yes. We have special larger meals with larger snacks that can work for you. If you are a serious gym goer and find you need to add a bit you can also supplement your diet with healthy foods of your choosing, like shakes and bars.
If you are Michael Phelps and need 12,000 calories a day, maybe not.
Another way to look at it is you need a solid base of well balanced and healthy meals which we can offer. It is really hard to get enough quality food in you if you are a high performance athlete so a good base with supplements is the way to go to get your best performance while feeling and being well.
Yes. There are many reasons people will want to join Lakelands Diet Delivery. Weight loss is an important one but eating well all the time is just as important. You may want the convenience of having someone else make healthy meals for you. You also may like the idea of not having to go grocery shopping and free up more time to enjoy your healthy lifestyle.
Everybody needs to eat, why not do it the healthy and guilt free way.
Most people will lose about 1 – 2 pounds a week. Losing and gaining weight is a matter of how many calories you eat and how much energy you use (medical exceptions of course). Eat more than you use you gain weight, eat less you lose weight. Exercise (even just walking) is a great way to use more calories.
At the beginning of weight loss the usual formula applies – 1 lb of fat equals 3500 calories, burn 500 cals more per day over 7 days is 3500 calories or 1 lb of fat. You may lose more weight per week but it could be water and lean mass. The 500 cal difference can be just from eating less, exercising more or both. As your weight goes down (5 – 10%) to keep getting the same results you will need to reduce calories further and/or increase your exercise. At a certain point you will not be able to reduce your calories any further to lose weight, you will need to only increase exercise. At this point you should be at a much healthier weight and have more energy so more exercise is not that difficult. To maintain the weight off you need to continuing eating healthy foods at the right calorie level and maintain exercising
How much your food is processed is also important. Typically the less processed the food the more work your body will need to do to get to the calories. Lakelands Diet Delivery makes fresh meals from fresh food it is not processed.
The type of food is also important. Most people don’t eat nearly enough vegetables, fruits and good fats. We use a lot, so you might find your body needs a bit of time to get used to digesting well balanced meals. After a week or 2 you will feel the difference and you will find you have more energy and your meals don’t make you slow down and feel heavy.
We also use a lot of whole grains and high fibre ingredients. Getting use to the fibre content may cause an increase in water retention, gas and frequency of bowel movements. After a few weeks your body will get use to the change. Making sure you have water with each meal helps.
